Sobre a raça

The German Wirehaired Pointer, or Deutsch Drahthaar, was developed in Germany from the late 19th century as a do-everything hunting dog: pointing, retrieving from land and water, tracking wounded game and dealing with vermin. Breeders combined several wire-coated pointing dogs, and selection has always focused on working tests.

It is tough, intelligent and devoted to its own people, often more reserved and watchful with strangers than other pointers. It needs a lot of exercise and real tasks. In the right active home, especially a hunting one, it is a capable and loyal partner.

Sabia que…?

The Deutsch Drahthaar is one of the most numerous hunting dog breeds in Germany.
