Priežiūra
Temperamentas
Malinois are intense, alert and extremely eager to work. They are loyal and often playful with their own people, and can be wary or protective with strangers. Many have a strong prey and bite drive.
Judėjimas
Most need two hours or more of activity a day, combining physical exercise with focused training. Protection sports, mondioring, tracking, agility and detection work suit them.
Kailio priežiūra
The short coat is easy: brush weekly and more often during the twice-yearly shed.
Dresūra
Extremely trainable but also quick to learn bad habits. Consistent, reward-based training, impulse-control work and early socialisation are essential.
Sveikata
Malinois are typically sound, but hip and elbow dysplasia, epilepsy and some eye conditions occur, and rare inherited neurological disorders are known in some lines. Breeding dogs are usually hip, elbow and eye screened, so ask the breeder for results.

Apie veislę
The Malinois is named after Mechelen (Malines in French), the Belgian city where the short-coated variety was first bred in numbers. Breeders selected it above all for working ability, and today it is one of the most widely used police, military and detection dogs in the world.
That focus on drive shapes daily life. A Malinois needs real work, firm routines and an owner who enjoys training. With that, it is affectionate, playful and very connected to its handler. Without it, the same energy can turn into chewing, spinning, barking or reactivity. It is a demanding breed and not a casual choice.
