Affectionate, lively and playful, attached to its owners. It can be alert and vocal and may be wary of boisterous children.
Mozgás
Short daily walks and indoor play, around half an hour or more, are usually enough. Trick training and small agility courses are fun outlets.

The long coat needs daily brushing or a shorter pet clip by a groomer. Clean around the eyes and look after teeth daily.
Nevelés
Learns well with gentle, reward-based training. House training can take patience.

A fajtáról
The Maltese is one of the oldest European toy breeds, known around the central Mediterranean since antiquity. Despite its name it is not tied only to Malta, and the FCI lists Italy as the country of patronage.
It is a lively, affectionate dog that wants to be close to its people. It suits flat life and older owners, but it is not a fragile ornament: it enjoys walks, play and training. It can be vocal and may be wary of rough handling, so homes with small children need care. Its long white coat needs daily attention or a shorter clip.
