Hooldus
Iseloom
Calm, loyal and affectionate with family, reserved and watchful with strangers. It tends to act quietly and decisively rather than bark, and some individuals are intolerant of same-sex dogs.
Liikumine
Moderate daily walks and some play are plenty; avoid heavy exercise in heat and while the dog is growing.
Karvahooldus
A weekly brush keeps the short coat in order; wipe the face and mouth regularly because of drooling.
Koolitus
Intelligent but independent, so keep training consistent, calm and reward-based; begin socialisation early.
Tervis
Known concerns include hip and elbow dysplasia, eyelid problems such as entropion, bloat, some cancers and heat sensitivity. Ask the breeder for the parents' hip, elbow and eye results.

Tõust
The Bullmastiff was developed in 19th-century England by gamekeepers who needed a dog to track and hold poachers on large estates without mauling them. They crossed the Mastiff with the old Bulldog, creating a fast, strong and silent dog, and the breed was recognised by The Kennel Club in 1924.
At home the Bullmastiff is surprisingly calm and likes to lie near its people. It barks little but takes guarding seriously, so early socialisation and steady training matter. It drools, snores and feels the heat, and its size makes leash manners essential.

Early Bullmastiffs were often dark brindle because the colour helped them stay hidden from poachers at night.
