关于该犬种
The Hanoverian Scent Hound was developed in Germany from old leash hounds used to track wounded deer and boar, and was standardised in the region of Hanover in the 1800s. It is heavier and more powerful than most scent hounds, with a serious expression and a red, often brindled coat.
Its job is to follow a cold blood trail, sometimes many hours old, to find injured game. Breed clubs usually place puppies only with working hunters or professional trackers. At home it is calm and attached to its handler, but it needs regular, real tracking work.
你知道吗?
Its German name, Hannoverscher Schweißhund, uses the hunters' word Schweiß, meaning the blood of wounded game.
