O plemene
For generations this little dog lived on farms in Denmark and southern Sweden, keeping rats and mice under control, giving warning of visitors and sometimes helping move livestock. It was only recognised as a breed in the late twentieth century, when the two countries began registering it jointly.
It is a practical, adaptable companion: lively and curious outdoors, relaxed and affectionate at home. It enjoys being involved in family life and usually gets on well with children and other dogs. Owners should expect a busy mind and a keen interest in anything that rustles or runs.
