Opieka

Ruch
Needs long, demanding daily activity; blood tracking, hunting and mountain hiking are ideal.
Pielęgnacja
The harsh coat needs a weekly brush and occasional stripping of dead hair.
Szkolenie
Keen to work with its handler on scent tasks; consistent, fair training and early socialisation are important.
Zdrowie

O rasie
The Styrian Coarse-haired Hound was created in Styria in the 1870s by Karl Peintinger, who crossed a Hanoverian Scenthound with an Istrian Coarse-haired Hound. The aim was a robust, weather-proof hound for tracking wounded game and hunting in steep mountain country.
It is a serious working dog, red or fawn with a harsh coat and a determined character. In Austria it is kept almost entirely by hunters, and breeders often prefer to place puppies with them. It bonds closely with its owner, can be reserved with strangers and needs a real job rather than a sofa.
