O rasie
The Alpine Dachsbracke comes from Austria, where hunters needed a low, sturdy dog to follow wounded game through steep forest and mountain terrain. It is a robust, short-legged hound with a dense, weatherproof coat, most often deer red.
It is used mainly for blood tracking but also for hare and fox. Despite its short legs it has plenty of stamina. At home it is usually friendly and calm and fits in well with a family, as long as it gets regular outdoor activity and the chance to use its nose.
Czy wiesz, że…?
It belongs to the FCI's leash hound section, together with blood trackers like the Hanoverian and Bavarian hounds.
