気質
Loyal and affectionate with its own people, the Azawakh is reserved and watchful with strangers and can be protective. It is sensitive and often a one-family dog.
運動量
It needs daily walks and frequent free running in a secure area. Lure coursing suits it well.
手入れ
The very short coat needs only a weekly wipe. Shedding is minimal.
しつけ
Azawakhs learn quickly but are independent and sensitive; gentle, consistent training and broad early socialisation are essential.
健康
Hypothyroidism, epilepsy, spinal changes and some autoimmune conditions are reported in the Azawakh. Ask the breeder for thyroid and heart results on the parents.

犬種について
The Azawakh comes from the Sahel region of Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso, where Tuareg and other nomadic peoples kept it to guard camps and hunt hare and gazelle. The breed is named after the Azawakh valley and has been recognised in Europe since the 1980s.
It is a striking, fine-boned dog with a strong attachment to its family and a natural suspicion of strangers. It is not a dog for busy, sociable households. It loves heat, dislikes cold and wet weather, and needs safe places to run and careful, early socialisation.
豆知識
The breed takes its name from the Azawakh valley, which stretches across parts of Mali and Niger.
