Umhirða
Skapgerð
Friendly, steady and sociable with dogs and people. Focused and tireless on a trail, relaxed at rest.
Hreyfing
Requires long daily exercise in open terrain and ideally pack hunting. Scent trailing and long hikes are good outlets.
Feldhirða
Short, close coat that needs a weekly brush. Check ears, pads and nails after each outing.
Þjálfun
Cooperative within a pack but independent on a scent. Short, consistent sessions with rewards work best; recall stays unreliable near game.
Heilsa
Generally hardy; hip dysplasia and ear infections are the issues most often reported. Ask the breeder for hip results of the parents.

Um tegundina
The white-and-orange Grand Anglo-Français comes from crosses between the French Billy and English Foxhounds. It is a sturdy, athletic hound used in packs on large game, and it is the least numerous of the three Grand Anglo-Français varieties.
With people it is mild and friendly, and with other dogs it is very easy, which is what pack life requires. Its needs, though, are serious: hours of running, a group to belong to, and owners who accept a loud voice and a strong hunting drive. It is best kept by people who hunt or who live in open country.
