Hooldus
Iseloom
Loyal, affectionate and gentle at home, sometimes reserved with strangers. It is energetic and persistent outdoors.
Liikumine
Needs one to two hours of exercise daily. Scent work, retrieving, field work and long walks suit it.
Karvahooldus
Brush the coat a few times a week and trim around ears and feet. Check ears regularly.
Koolitus
Willing but can be independent, especially on scent. Use consistent, reward-based training and work hard on recall.
Tervis
Hip dysplasia, glaucoma linked to goniodysgenesis and other eye conditions, epilepsy and ear infections are known in the breed. Ask the breeder for hip scores and eye results, including gonioscopy.

Tõust
The Welsh Springer Spaniel is a flushing and retrieving dog from Wales, where red and white spaniels have long been used for hunting. It was recognised as a separate breed in Britain in 1902 and has always come only in red and white.
It is affectionate and very attached to its family, sometimes to one person in particular. It is often reserved with strangers. It has plenty of stamina and a strong nose, so it needs daily exercise and steady training. It does not like to be left alone for long and can become vocal or anxious if it is.
