Hooldus
Iseloom
Merry, affectionate and eager to be with people. Some can be sensitive or possessive of toys, so early, gentle training helps.
Liikumine
Needs at least an hour of exercise a day, more for working lines. Retrieving, scent work, agility and long walks are good choices.
Karvahooldus
Brush the silky coat a few times a week and keep ears clean and dry. Regular trimming around ears, feet and body keeps it neat.
Koolitus
Bright and keen to please, and it learns quickly with rewards. Working lines benefit from structured gundog-style training.
Tervis
Inherited eye disease, familial nephropathy, hip dysplasia, ear infections and deafness in parti-coloured dogs are known in the breed. Ask the breeder for eye, hip and DNA results.

Tõust
The English Cocker Spaniel was developed in Britain as a small flushing spaniel for woodcock and other game in dense cover. It was separated from the larger Springer Spaniel in the late 19th century, and today there are distinct show and working lines.
It is a cheerful, affectionate dog that wants to be involved in everything, often with a toy in its mouth. Working-line cockers are especially busy and need plenty to do. Show-line dogs are usually somewhat calmer but still need daily walks and mental work. Its long ears and coat need regular care.
