Hooldus
Iseloom
Devoted and affectionate at home, often a real couch companion. Naturally wary of strangers and quietly protective, though rarely noisy about it. Some males can be intolerant of other dogs.
Liikumine
Moderate daily walks and some play are enough; avoid heavy exercise in heat and forced running while the dog is growing.
Karvahooldus
The short coat needs only a weekly brush, but the facial folds should be wiped and kept dry, and a drool towel is useful.
Koolitus
Sensitive and sometimes stubborn, so short, calm, reward-based sessions work best; start leash manners early while the puppy is still manageable.
Tervis
The breed has a short average lifespan and is prone to heart disease, hip and elbow dysplasia, bloat, skin-fold problems and heat stress. Ask the breeder for the parents' hip, elbow and heart results.

Tõust
The Dogue de Bordeaux is one of France's oldest working breeds, used for centuries in the south-west as a guard for estates, butchers' yards and vineyards, and at times for hunting large game. The breed nearly vanished after the world wars and was rebuilt by a small group of French enthusiasts.
Living with one means sharing your home with a heavy, gentle-mannered dog that likes to be close to its people. It is usually quiet indoors, drools generously and snores. Its strength calls for early training and secure handling, and its short life expectancy is something every future owner should think about honestly.
