Bold, lively and confident, with a playful spirit and quick reactions. Affectionate with family but can be quarrelsome with other dogs.

Needs at least an hour of active exercise daily; it enjoys agility, earthdog trials, flyball and fetch.

The wiry coat sheds little but needs regular brushing and hand-stripping or clipping every few months.

Intelligent but easily distracted; keep sessions short, upbeat and consistent.

O pasmi
The Wire Fox Terrier was developed in England alongside its smooth-coated relative to bolt foxes from their dens for mounted hunts. Its dense, wiry coat protected it from thorns and weather, and its white colour made it visible in the field.
It is an energetic, curious dog that wants to be involved in everything. It thrives with active owners who enjoy daily walks, games and training. It can be noisy and pushy if bored, and it is keen to chase small animals, so a secure garden and plenty of stimulation are needed.
