Sobre a raça

The King Charles Spaniel descends from the toy spaniels seen at the English court in the Tudor and Stuart periods. Over the nineteenth century breeders favoured a rounder head and shorter nose, creating the breed we know today, which is called the English Toy Spaniel in North America.

It is a calm, home-loving dog that enjoys a gentle stroll and then a long nap on a lap. Many are a little reserved with strangers but deeply affectionate with their own people. It suits quieter households and older owners well, but its short face means it must be kept cool and not pushed hard physically.

Sabia que…?

In North America the breed is called the English Toy Spaniel, and its colour varieties carry names such as Blenheim, Ruby and Prince Charles.
