Sobre a raça

The Bichon Frise belongs to the bichon family of small white dogs from the Mediterranean, related to the Maltese, Bolognese and Havanese. It became a favourite at the French court in the sixteenth century, later worked as a street and circus performer, and was standardised in France and Belgium in the 1930s.

Bichons are bright, merry and friendly to almost everyone. They enjoy games, short walks and being close to their people, and they adapt well to flats. The curly white coat sheds little but needs regular brushing and professional grooming, and house training can take extra patience.

Sabia que…?

King Henri III of France is said to have carried his little bichons in a basket hung from his neck.
