O rasie
The Taiwan Dog descends from the dogs kept by Taiwan's indigenous mountain peoples, who used them to hunt and guard their villages. In the twentieth century, researchers and breeders gathered native-type dogs from remote areas to preserve the type, and the FCI accepted the breed provisionally in 2015.
It is a lean, agile and athletic dog with excellent reflexes. With its family it is loyal and affectionate, but it is suspicious of strangers and protective of its home. It needs plenty of exercise, early socialisation and an owner experienced with independent, primitive-type dogs.
