O rasie
The Large Munsterlander developed in north-western Germany from black-and-white long-haired pointing dogs. When the German Longhaired Pointer club accepted only brown dogs in the early 1900s, enthusiasts in the Münster area kept breeding the black-and-white ones, forming their own club in 1919.
It is a calm, friendly and intelligent dog that bonds closely with its family. It needs plenty of exercise and something to think about, and its long coat requires regular brushing. In an active home, ideally with some hunting or nose work, it is a pleasant and reliable companion.
Czy wiesz, że…?
The breed exists because the German Longhaired Pointer club once excluded black-and-white dogs from its breeding programme.
