Opieka
Charakter
Intense, responsive and devoted to its handler. It is often reserved with strangers and sensitive to noise and tension. Its herding drive is strong and may be aimed at children, cars or other pets.
Ruch
Needs more than an hour and a half of activity daily, with real mental work. Herding, agility, obedience, flyball, frisbee and trick training are ideal.
Pielęgnacja
Brush smooth coats weekly and longer coats a few times a week, with extra care during seasonal shedding.
Szkolenie
Exceptionally trainable, but it learns unwanted habits just as quickly. Teach it to settle and switch off, not only to work.
Zdrowie
Hip and elbow dysplasia, collie eye anomaly, epilepsy and deafness occur, along with rarer inherited conditions such as TNS and neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis. Ask the breeder for the parents' hip, elbow, eye, hearing and DNA results.

O rasie
The Border Collie was shaped in the hill country along the border between England and Scotland, where shepherds bred purely for working ability. Its crouching stance and intense stare, known as 'eye', let it move sheep with little noise or force. Sheepdog trials have helped preserve that focus.
Living with one is rewarding but demanding. It learns fast, reads body language closely and wants to work with you every day. Without enough exercise and mental challenge it can become anxious, obsessive or destructive, chasing cars, shadows or light. For people who love training and the outdoors, it is a remarkable partner.
