Par šķirni
The Aidi comes from the Atlas Mountains of North Africa, where it has long guarded the flocks and camps of Berber shepherds against predators and intruders. Its thick coat protects it from both the summer heat and cold mountain nights. In some regions it was also paired with the Sloughi for hunting.
Outside Morocco the breed is rare. It is lively, watchful and loyal, and it will sound the alarm at any disturbance. It suits rural homes with secure fencing and owners who understand independent guardian breeds.
