관리

기질

Balanced, self-reliant and devoted to its family. It watches over its home and flock with quiet confidence and is cautious with strangers. It is slow to anger but firm when it decides to act.

운동

Daily walks and time outdoors in a fenced area are usually enough. It enjoys hiking in cool weather but is not suited to intensive sports.

그루밍

Brush the thick coat a few times a week and daily during the seasonal moult. Mud tends to dry and drop out of the coarse outer coat.

훈련

Early socialisation is essential. Train with patience and consistency; it learns readily but will question pointless repetition.

건강

Hip and elbow dysplasia are the main concerns, as in most large breeds; bloat can also occur. Ask the breeder for the hip, elbow and eye results of both parents.

브리더가 주로 하는 건강 검사

  • 고관절(HD)
  • 팔꿈치(ED)
  • 안과 검사

브리더에게 부모견의 검사 결과를 보여 달라고 요청하세요.

견종 소개

The Polish Tatra Sheepdog, known at home as the Owczarek Podhalański, guarded sheep in the Tatra Mountains of southern Poland for generations. The white coat made it easy for shepherds to tell the dog from a wolf in poor light.

Today it is a calm, steady companion that still takes guarding seriously. It is usually gentle with its own family and tolerant of other household animals it grows up with, but it will challenge intruders and may bark at night. It wants space, a secure fence and an owner who leads quietly and consistently rather than with force.

In Poland the breed is called Owczarek Podhalański, after the Podhale region at the foot of the Tatra Mountains.
