견종 소개
The Hokkaido is believed to descend from dogs that came with early migrants to Japan and were kept by the Ainu people on Hokkaido island. It hunted bear and deer and guarded homes in a harsh, snowy climate, and was designated a natural monument in Japan in 1937.
It is a tough, weather-proof dog with a strong hunting drive and a protective streak. With its family it is affectionate and steady, but it tends to be reserved with strangers and can be assertive with other dogs. The breed is rare outside Japan, so prospective owners usually need patience to find a puppy.
알고 계셨나요?
Hokkaido dogs often have a spotted or partly blue-black tongue, a trait shared with a few other Asian spitz breeds.
