Confident, curious and playful, with a touch of stubbornness. Loyal to its people and quick to alert, though it can be bossy with larger dogs.

Short daily walks and indoor play are enough; it enjoys games, trick training and short sniffing walks.
手入れ
The rough coat needs combing a few times a week and occasional tidying or hand-stripping around the face and feet; it sheds little.
しつけ
Bright but independent; keep training short, fun and consistent, with patience for house-training.
健康
Known concerns include kneecap luxation, Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease, eye problems and some heart conditions; the short face can also make it sensitive to heat. Ask the breeder for the parents' knee and eye results.

犬種について
The Affenpinscher is an old German breed whose name means "monkey terrier", a nod to its expressive, whiskered face. It was once used to keep rats and mice out of stables, kitchens and shops, and it is thought to have contributed to the development of the Brussels Griffon and Miniature Schnauzer.
Today it is a lively companion that likes to be the centre of attention. It is brave for its size and alert to everything happening around it. It suits adults or families with older children who handle it gently.

An Affenpinscher named Banana Joe won Best in Show at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in 2013.
