Umhirða
Skapgerð
Confident, playful and affectionate with family, with the typical terrier boldness. It can be stubborn and may not tolerate other dogs that challenge it.
Hreyfing
About an hour of activity a day suits it, including brisk walks, play and mental work such as agility, nose work or obedience.
Feldhirða
The coat hardly sheds but grows continuously; brush it several times a week and plan a trim every six to eight weeks.
Þjálfun
Bright and quick to learn, but easily bored and sometimes headstrong. Keep sessions short, fair and fun.
Heilsa
Eye problems such as dry eye and eyelid issues, skin cysts and occasional hip dysplasia are reported in the breed. Ask the breeder for eye and hip results on both parents.

Um tegundina
The Kerry Blue comes from the mountainous south-west of Ireland, where it was a working farm dog that hunted vermin, guarded the house and even helped with herding. It became popular as a show dog in the early twentieth century, and many in Ireland regard it as a national symbol.
In daily life it is a cheerful, involved companion that loves its family and enjoys games and outings. It can be bossy with other dogs and has a strong chase instinct, so early socialisation matters. The non-shedding coat is a plus for many owners but needs regular professional trimming to stay healthy and tidy.
Vissir þú?
Kerry Blue puppies are born black and their coat gradually clears to blue-grey, usually by around 18 months of age.
