A fajtáról
The Löwchen is a member of the bichon family and appears in European art from the Renaissance onward, usually clipped to resemble a little lion. The FCI lists France as its country of origin. By the mid-twentieth century it had almost disappeared, and a small group of breeders rebuilt it from a few dozen dogs.
Löwchen are bright, affectionate and sociable dogs that enjoy play and company. They are sturdy for their size and adapt well to homes of every kind. The long, wavy coat sheds little but needs regular care, and the traditional lion clip is usually done by a groomer.
