Swedish Lapphunds are friendly, alert and keen to work, affectionate with family and a little reserved with strangers. They are often vocal.
Liikumine
An hour or more each day of walks, play and training. They do well in herding, agility, obedience and hiking.
Karvahooldus
The thick double coat needs brushing a few times a week and more during the seasonal moult.
Koolitus
Intelligent and willing, they learn quickly with positive methods. Work early on barking and calm behaviour.
Tervis
Progressive retinal atrophy, Pompe disease (a storage disorder) and hip dysplasia are known. Ask the breeder for hip, eye and DNA results.

Tõust
The Swedish Lapphund is an old Nordic breed used by the Sami people to herd and guard reindeer in northern Sweden. It is a typical spitz with a dense coat, pricked ears and curled tail, and is still uncommon outside Scandinavia.
At home it is friendly, playful and good with families, and it enjoys training more than many spitz breeds. It likes being active with its people and handles cold and wet weather with ease. It can be vocal, a trait from herding work, and needs both physical and mental exercise.
